Go With the Flow

Have you ever noticed how we want to control everything and everyone?  We all have various degrees of control issues.  We want to have things just so, our way and on our time schedule.  Whether something small, like how to do the dishes properly, to bigger things like spiritual practices, we all have our way of doing things.  We believe our ways of doing things are the best way, the only way.   What if, it is only another way?

If you are a very structured personality like me, it’s not always easy to remember to allow others to do things their way and in their time.  Recognizing their way is a way too, that seems to work for them... and if it doesn’t, that is okay too.   It is interesting how many fellow travellers show up to help us learn this.  They help teach us to go with the flow - to learn it is not our job to control everything.  What a relief to learn this!

Even as we learn about the power we have to attract all the things we want in our life, we want to say how and when all that is to happen.  We take necessary steps in the world to create the life of our dreams.  Sometimes we can be so fixated on how we think it should all happen and what we have to do, that we forget how we should be.

Ultimately, it is not so much about what we do, but how we are being while we do what we do.  Are we being kind, considerate, loving, understanding, forgiving, patient, and go with the flow?  These qualities and more are what we pick up on the first time we meet someone and what we remember about others.  These are the ways of being we all want to be remembered for.

Interestingly enough, when we allow ourselves to just be and go with the flow, we open to the guidance of our soul.  We begin listening to the “nudges” of our soul and the things in our life unfold easily and effortlessly. We begin allowing all good to flow through our lives.  We experience more joy and remember we are a shining soul!
